1989
Sorry I am late on posting, but now that I am Out Of The Woods, I can finally post. ;)
The fabulous album titled 1989 by the amazing Taylor Swift came out two weeks ago and has been playing on my iPod basically nonstop since. So, I decided to give her one of the highest praises I can give someone--doing nail art for her wonderful album 1989.
I got this idea right before I fully fell asleep, so I guess you can say I saw these in my Wildest Dreams. ;) For these nails, I have done a version of the cover of the album. I painted on two coats of my white polish to go for the sleeves of Taylor's shirt. Then I taped off the sides and painted a streak of a blueish purple in the middle to get the main part of her shirt (I could have gone and painted little birds on the purple but I am not the best at free hand nail art just yet). Then I used a technique called "sandwiching" the polish. I painted a thin coat of a cream-ish white to make the nails art look aged like the Polaroid used for the album cover.
Let's break down what a sandwich on nails is, shall we? A sandwich is where you paint a lightly colored polish to your already polished nails to make the colors not so bright or to make them look faded like I did. Make sure you pick a color that will show the other colors underneath it, otherwise it won't create the aged look.
For the finishing touch, I free-handed 1989 and T.S. on the nails with black polish.
Colors:
For the White sleeves of the shirt: OPI = Alpine Snow
For the Purple center of the shirt: essie = lapiz of luxury
For the creamy white for the top of the nail: Zoya = Jacqueline
For the Black on top of every thing: China Glaze = Liquid Leather
I just love her album so much and am so proud to watch her grow up and become who she is. Thank you, Taylor, for all that you do.
I also really love these nails! They make me feel like I am in Wonderland. ;)
And these nails will never go out of STYLE! ;)
(hehe ( I like puns (And that's how it works))) ;)
That was everything.
Shake It Out! ;)
