Nail Repair Tutorial
Hello everyone.
I have a bit of a different post for you today. Last February I cut my nail at the base which kept me from painting all my nails because of the cut. You probably remember the month or so where my middle finger was always in a band-aid. The cut wasn't too deep, but it did separate my nail from my skin in one area so I had to give it some time to heal before mending it. I kept track of the growth of the cut on my nail in the photos below:
The cut took about three months to grow out to the tip of my finger, which would allow me to file it out, but . . . since the break of the nail had gotten so close to the tip of the nail, one side of the nail was pretty much detached from the nail plate and when I went out to dinner one night the nail chipped. The crack went across the whole nail and I had to trim off the rest since the nail hurt a lot. About two weeks later (when the nail plate wasn't showing anymore), I was able to even out the edge of the nail and finally paint all my nails again without having to utilize the nail repair kit.
Hope you have a good week!

Once my nail healed enough that it didn't hurt anymore, I went to repair it with a nail rescue kit.
First, you brush on some nail glue.
While the glue is still wet, dip it in the nail repair powder. When that sets (after few seconds), brush off the extra. I did this twice to get a real solid fill.
To top it off and seal it, I painted on a good base coat.
