#2: Favorite Summer Song

Image
Hey! Favorite summer song is the prompt today and I have taken my favorite song to jam to right now which is Papercut by Zedd ft. Troye Sivan. So I took inspiration from the cover of the album (True Colors). I painted two coats of my white polish on all my nails. From here, I needed a way to make water-color-like designs on my accent finger. OPI has released these color paints that leave the perfect effect for this. So, I did splashes of color on my ring finger. On my pointer finger, I used red nail polish to make a "paper-cut" because of the title of the song. Colors: essie = blanc(white), OPI = Big Apple Red(red) & Primarily Yellow(color paints) & Chromatic Orange(color paints) & Pen&Pink(color paints) & Purple Perspective(color paints) & Turquoise Aesthetic(color paints) Hope you guys have a good weekend! See ya.

#1: Day at the Beach

Image
Hi! Have you ever heard of an art challenge? Well my sister is an artist and is always doing one. They are a list of challenges that the artist interprets and then draws or paints. I loved the idea of doing a nail art challenge. However, when I looked it up, there only seems to be one and it doesn't give you much chance to do some crazy-fun art. So my sister made one for me. . . I  really want to see what you guys come up with. I love seeing how other people see things. So I hope you try it out! If you want me to see it, use the hashtag #15NailsofSummer on twitter/tumblr/whatever or just the phrase "15 Nails of Summer". Today I have the first set of nails for you! When I think of a beach, I think of the water coming up and then flowing back out to the ocean like this . . . (my pictures I took on one of my family vacations . . . I am kinda of a photography nerd). To achieve this look, I went for and gradient. This would make it look like water receding from t...

Cinderella: 2015

Image
Hi! Today is the 2015-version of the Cinderella nails. I really loved the updated version of the movie and can't wait to  get it on Blu-ray and watch it over and over again. One thing I did with the nails to make them different from the  1950 version is that I made this set of nails more elegant! I think that this really shows how the movies has changed and expanded on the story, giving it more depth. And, of course, I had to use the Cinderella Collection from Morgan Taylor for these nails!  Colors by Nail:  Thumb(Butterflies) =Morgan Taylor - Ella of a Gril (pink) & Watch Your Step, Sister(bright pink) & Party at the Place (teal) & Best Ball Gown Ever (blue) Pointer(Glass Slipper) =essie - blanc (white) & Morgan Taylor - If the Slipper Fits(sparkle) Middle (Cinderella) = essie - blanc(white) & Morgan Taylor - Best Ball Gown Ever(blue) Ring(Prince Charming) = essie - aruba blue (blue) & good as gold(gold) Pinky( Step Sisters) = essie ...

Cinderella: 1950

Image
Hello! I love Disney! So, when I heard that a live-action Cinderella was going to come out in theaters, I got extremely excited! Cinderella was one of my favorite princesses when I was little, so of course I had to do nail art for it. But I wanted to do more than just do nail inspired by the old movie. I decided to do nails for the original Cinderella that came out in 1950! And then do nails based on the 2015 Cinderella movie. This really allowed me to be more animated and playful. So, today you get the first set of nails (tomorrow will be the 2015 ones). (A lot of polishes went into these nails so) Colors By Nail: Thumb(Glass Slipper) = OPI - Dining al Frisco (Blue) & essie- blanc (white) Pointer(Midnight) =essie - blanc (white) & licorice (black) Middle(Prince Charming) = Zoya - Jacqueline(creamy white) & essie - good as gold(gold) & wrapped in rubies (red) Ring(Cinderella) =essie - limo-scene(light pink) & bikini so teeny(light blue) & OPI - Din...

Night & Day Half-Moon Tutorial

Image
Hey hey hey! For a half-moon design, you need to one lighter color and one darker color. The lighter color will go on the bottom and of course makes the dark one go on top. Now, I love yellow and blue together so I just had to use those colors! Colors: butter London = Royal Navy(deep blue) & Cheeky Chops(yellow), China Glaze = Fairy Dust (glitter) First: Paint your nails with two coats of the lighter color and let this dry for a good 10 minutes if not more. Second: Take a reinforcement sticker (those office things you use for binders) and stick it to your hand two times. This makes it less sticky so that you won't peel off your nail polish! Peel it off your hand and stick it at the base of the nail. Third: Paint the rest of the nail with the darker color and then peel off the tape. If you let the tape sit, the paint will dry and end up coming up with the tape instead of staying on the nail.      Now from here you can add a glitter coat or some jewel...
