mini mani monday: Graduating Class of 2015

Image
Hey hey hey Polish Peeps!!!! So for this mini mani monday, I give you nails for the graduating class of 2015! My sister, Shannon , just graduated and went to prom last weekend. So, I gave her a very special set of nails. I wanted to do something that really showed up and showed that she was graduating. I started off with a light pink to give the nails a good base for nail art.  I painted on 2 0 1 5 and a graduating cap on each finger with black. I then went back and added gold dots to the numbers  and a tassel on the cap. The design lined up differently on each hand so: Left Hand: Pointer = 2 Middle = 0 Ring = 1 Pinky = 5 Right Hand: Pointer = 5 Middle = 1 Ring = 0 Pinky = 2 On both thumbs is the graduating cap. Colors: essie = Mademoiselle (light pink), essie = licorice (black), essie = good as gold (gold) Congratulations to every one graduating this year! Hope these nails inspire you to do your own nail art for your graduation!! I would love to ...

Coral Reef

Hey hey hey! I always love doing half moons on my nails! A half moon is where, at the bottom of the nail (near the cuticle), a half round area with a different color of polish is. I always forget that normally you should have the darker color be the big area of the nail. So, I end up having to do a lot of free hand work on the half moons. I will have a tutorial doing half moons the right way soon, but for now I give you nails that look like a coral reef and are getting me in the mood for summer and swimming! I first painted my nails in a pinky-orange and then did the circles with a dotting tool (very hard to get it to look perfect).  I added one layer of glitter coat and was satisfied. Tip: If you ever have a line or a curve that you did freehand and it doesn't look perfect, do a glitter top coat. It distracts from the messy areas and tends to give it a shine that hides the issues. ;) Colors: essie = tart deco (pinky-orange), butter London = Royal Navy (deep ...

Sparkling Red

Image
Hallo! Today I give you a simple and classic polish for your piggies! So, red is always a classic look for your toes, and sparkle always make sure that they get noticed. So, having a sparkling red polish is perfect for flip-flop weather. Now, there are a few different red polishes that are sparkly! I have two so I picked one and painted my toes. Color: Mineral Fusion = Rockin' Rudy      Hope you peeps have a great week. My sister is graduating! So, I am going to be super busy (not too busy for nails!) and I will have some super cute graduation nails for you grads! Peace out!

All Tuxed Up

Hey hey hey Polish Peeps!!! Today I wanted to dress up my nails all fancy! I have seen these nails a few other places and they have been done many different ways so I wanted to try them for myself. They can be fairly simple, but you need to know what to do first. So first I started off with two coats of white polish. When that was dry, I taped the nail so it would have a triangle-ish  shape at the tip (NOT near the cuticle) and painted that with black polish. You could do this free hand but I have shaky hands; shaky hands = messy lines (but I can do dots pretty well). But hey that's just me. From there, I added two black dots up the white part of the nail while leaving room at the end of the nail (near the cuticle). Then, very carefully, I did two sideways triangles with them connected at the middle to make a bow tie because bow ties are cool. ;) (Also neck ties are really hard to do on a nail . . . if you know how to do those, you are AWESOME.) For the bow ties, I did them all...

Happy Easter!!!

Image
Hey hey hey Polish Peeps! This lovely spring day is Easter! Which means I am wearing bunny ears all day and eating my weight in chocolate. :D So, I wanted nails that work with today. I picked out some lovely colors from spring collections. I went with a light pink on my pointer and pinky fingers, a light (mint) green on my thumb and ring fingers, and a grayish blue on my middle finger.  When all of my nails dried I taped my fingers off with a thin triangle shape and painted it with a creamy light blue! This just looks like Easter to me! Colors: Mineral Fusion = Pebble (light pink), Essie = blossom dandy (light green), Essie = petal pusher (grayish blue), Essie = find me an oasis (creamy blue)  Hope all of you enjoy your Easter for those who celebrate it. To those of you who don',t have just as an amazing relaxing day! Bunny out!
