#8: Summer Sky

Image
Hallo peoples! One of my favorite things about where I live is the sky. Some days, the clouds are so beautiful that they look fake. So, how could I not do sky nail art?!!! I started off with two coats of a light sky blue. Once that was dry, I took  a mid-sized dotter tool. I did three connected dots to start off each cloud. From there I either added more dots to make the cloud or thought the cloud was perfect. And, of course, you can't do the sky with out the sun right? On the thumb, I painted a yellow half circle on the corner of the nail. I think these are some of the best nails I have done yet!! I am really proud of these. I also love the photography I was able to do for these. I was standing on a chair in my back yard with my mum holding a reflector over her head, (thanks mum!) blocking direct sunlight from hitting the nails (this prevents dark/harsh shadows). I think my photography classes are paying off!!! ;) Colors: OPI = Need Sunglasses? (yellow) & Dining al Fri...

#7: Camping

Image
Hi guys!!!! Day 7: Camping . . . . For the camping prompt, I wanted to do the area you normally are when you go camping. So, I did a gradient with green for trees, light blue for the sky before the sun sets, and dark blue for when the sun does set. I feel that the gradient shows how the area of a camp sight looks like in an arty way. When I finshed the gradient, I did one coat of my matte top coat and let that dry. I then added white dots to be stars and little yellow dots to be fireflies. I think the effect came out cool! Colors: Essie = blanc (white), Zoya = Hunter(Green) & Kristen(light blue) & Ryan(dark blue), butter London = Cheeky Chops(yellow) I think they look really cool!!! See ya!

#6: Fireworks

Image
Hello sweeties! Fireworks! Who isn't scared of them? Fireworks are always going off in the summer . . . so why not do nail art for them? Of course, you are going to want to start with a black background. I did two coats of my newest black  and let that dry. Then I added one coat of glitter to look like stars in the background. Then I did fireworks free hand in sliver & blue and gold & pink! Colors: Essie = No place like chrome(sliver) & good as gold(gold) & butler please(blue) & bump up the pumps(pink) & licorice(black), China Glaze = Fairy Dust(glitter)  I really  hope it looks like stars in the background!! What do you think? See ya!!!

#5: Vacation

Image
Hi! Prompt #5 is Vacation. This can be one you want to go on or one you are going to go on.  So I am going to Canada later on this summer (even thought I rather go to San Diego Comic Con that is happening right now!!!) . . .  so, how could I not do Canada flag nails?! I started off by painting my pointer, middle, and ring fingers white. Then I painted my pinky and thumb red. After all of it dried, I taped off half of the nail on the pointer and the ring fingers and painted half of it red. On the middle finger, I free handed a maple leaf (I tried and don't think it looks that bad). Colors: OPI = Big Apple Red(red), Essie = Blanc(white)  I really like them!! See ya!

#4: How Weather is in Your Area

Image
Hey hey hey! The 4th prompt of the 15 Nails of Summer is weather! I live in a high dessert, which basically means it is too hot to do anything or there is a horrible thunderstorm outside and you can barely leave your house anyway. So, I wanted to show this through nail art. I thought that the best way to do this was by a gradient. I decide to do a glitter red and yellow gradient on four of my fingers and, since it just starts pouring down rain out of no where here, I did a rainy gradient on my ring finger. To add the effect of too much heat, I added a gold glitter on the yellow/red gradient and then a silver-ish glitter to the rain gradient. Colors: Zoya = Neve (Dark blue) & Kristen (light gray-ish blue), OPI = DS Indulgence (red glitter) & Need Sunglasses?(yellow), Mineral Fusion = Glimmer (gold glitter), China Glaze = Fairy Dust (sliver-ish glitter) What is the weather where you are at? Is it way too hot or is becoming winter? See ya!

#3: Keeping Cool in the Heat

Image
Hi hi hi! Today I give you the 3rd day of the 15 Nails of Summer challenge! Now that the heat in my areas seems to be over 100°F every day, the hardest thing to do is find a way to keep cool. I tend to go for a really cold ice cream (which will only cool you down for five minutes but whatever). To start off, I wanted a light blue polish for a background to really make it cool. After two coats of the blue had dried, I taped a triangle on my ring and pointer and painted it light brown. Then I added a few dark brown accents on the triangle to make it look an ice cream cone. Once all of that was dry, I did three dots. One in the dark brown, one in pink, and one in white to look like chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream. And, of course, I wasn't finished without a top coat of glitter! Colors: butter London = Tramp Stamp(dark brown) & Snog (pink), essie = blanc (white) & find me an oasis(light blue), Zoya = Chanelle (light brown), China Glaze = fairy dust (Glitter) ...
